Ravencoin Pattern: Kickstarter/Indiegogo with Tokens and Messages.

Here, I show how to perform a Kickstarter/Indiegogo project on the Ravencoin blockchain with tokens and messages. Tokens are currently available on the Ravencoin blockchain-- messages are scheduled to be available starting Q1/2019. A Kickstarter/Indiegogo (K/I) project tends to look like this: There is a project creator (Creator) and one or more customers (Customers). There is also someone who holds the pledges, an 'Escrow'. The Creator advertises the project and promises delivery of a product should a certain amount be raised. A Customer pledges a certain amount of money and also gives the Creator an address to deliver the product. If a sufficient amount of money is raised, the Creator creates the product and sends it to each of the Customers. If not enough money is raised, the Creator abandons the project and returns the money to the Customers. Until the sufficient amount of money is raised, funds are held by the Escrow. Unlike the traditional K/I project, use of Ra

Ravencoin, Petri Nets, and Supply Chains

Ravencoin, Petri Nets, and Supply Chains Andrew Berman 11/25/2018 I show how Ravencoin Tokens can be used to model the state of a Petri Net and give an example of how we can use this model for supply chain management on the Ravencoin blockchain. A Petri Net (   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petri_net   ) is a state transition diagram with a certain set of properties. They are defined by three basic components: places, arcs, and transitions. Their state is defined by another type of component: tokens, which move from place to place. Petri nets are sophisticated enough to mimic many business processes. The state of a Petri Net can be fully represented in the Ravencoin blockchain.   A set of Ravencoin addresses can represent the Petri Net places and Ravencoin tokens can represent the Petri Net tokens.   As Ravencoin does not have smart contracts, the *logic* of the Petri Net remains off chain. Specifically, the movement of the tokens must take place by outside actors.

Five Ravencoin Asset Patterns

Five Ravencoin Asset Patterns Ravencoin ($RVN) is the coin for a POW blockchain.  From the website , "Ravencoin aims to implement a blockchain which is optimized specifically for the use case of transferring assets such as tokens from one holder from another."  On November 5, 2018, asset creation went live on the block chain.   Users can create assets, represented by tokens on the block chain. Sub-assets can also be created.  Assets can be sent from one address to another address. Each asset has a special 'owner token.'  The possessor of the owner token has special rights on the creation of assets and sub-assets.  Each asset type has a unique name and can be made in quantities from 1 to 21 billion, with up to 8 digits of divisibility.  In the first 3 weeks since November 5, over 13,000 unique assets have been created. One example of asset use is a token that represents a share of some real-world asset, such as a property.  One can take a house or piece of land, p
